The Stella-Nova Troupe

Presents

Mort

Mort

Adapted for the stage by Stephen Briggs

Death comes to us all. When he came to Mort, he offered him a job.

After being assured that being dead, and indeed the bone thing, was not compulsory, Mort accepted. But it wasn't as easy as that. What with his extreme clumsiness, "couldn't find his arse with both hands" and a tendency to look upon a certain Princess as a source of romantic potential, it was not going to be an easy job...

Terry Pratchett is one of the funniest authors of our time. His Discworld books are always bestsellers with their high humour and not so subtle poking fun at our world through the Make-It-Bigger Lens of a stellar sized turtle supporting four elephants and a pizza style world on top. (No anchovies though. Some think that this was a mistake on the part of the creator...)

Now, some of these books have been turned into plays by Stephen Briggs, Mort being the second one to get "The Treatment."

The brave director for this play, Bruce Cassidy, decided that this play would be a good inaugural project for the Stella Nova troupe. So please feel free to come along and enjoy being plunged, for a few hours, into the clever and crazy world of Terry Pratchett.

Terry Pratchett is an immensely approachable and likable author. And, like most things nowadays, he is on the Net. If you want to find out more about him, do a search in your favourite web search engine, and you will come up with any number of site referring to him. The main site on the web is almost indisputably L-Space. This offers a huge array of information and tidbits about the author and his books. There are also links there to alt.fan.pratchett, a news group discussing the multitudinous works of Terry Pratchett. There is also a link to the Annotated Pratchett File, a huge compilation of annotations to Terry's books, describing the allusions that Terry has in his works. Well worth a read...
